Togas and all, the Thespian Society took the stage March 1 and 3 to perfo"m "A Midsummer Night's Dream.Ó Both nights were filled with extreme success. After two months of preparing the essential costumes, sets, blocking, and lines, everything came together more than smoothly. |

"Teaching the guys how to sit in dresses," junior Krysta Johnson said was the only thing left to worry about opening night. The players and producers all felt ready before their debut as Shakespeareans. Their most impressive accomplishment yet, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was a showcase of some of Bigfork's brightest. Students Krysta Johnson, Samantha Harvey, and Kendra Wheeler designed the costumes; Luke Smith organized and produced the amazing set; Cassie Martin worked the lights; and Megan Atkinson, Angela Miles, and Erin Baker performed as stage managers. The production was Bigfork's first attempt at Shakespeare in years. It was also the first theatre experience for many of the cast members. It was seniors Elizabeth Johnson and Luke Smith who gave two of the best performances, their first time on stage. Their energy and sheer talent penetrated the entire audience. "The play was definitely something the students did... they owned it," commented the assistant director Barbara Holmes. Although this was the final production for this year, you can expect to see even greater performances by the Thespian Society. The cast would like to thank everyone who came out to support them. A special thanks to Jeffrey Funk, Pam Morris, Sarah Groenke, Steve Racki, Wayne Loeffler, and Mike Boshka. |
