The shop was busy throughout the day with knitters coming in to see all the beautiful yarns and knitting accessories.

It's always fun to announce a new business in the community. This one is especially fun because it is right next door to the Journal office. The middle unit of our building is now the home of Whitty Knitters.

Kintting is experiencing a revival these days and people of all ages are taking up knitting as a hobby. I recently saw a television news story about how teenage boys have started learning to knit. The show told about a young skateboarder who took up kniting so he could make himself a cool hat. When his friends saw what he was doing, they gave him grief until they saw the hat he made and then they decided they wanted to learn to knit also.

The Whitty Knitter is open from 10 am to 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday and 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday
The official location is 8269 Hwy 35 in Bigfork. The phone number is 837 KNIT ( 5648 )

Annie and Terri have done a fantastic job of selecting so many beautiful yarns for your knitting pleasure. There are also all the accessories you could possibly imagine to help you with your knitting projects. They will have knitting classes starting soon so give them a call to learn more.

Congratulations and welcome to Annie and Terri on their exciting new enterprise.
